Getting Involved at Cambria County Library

The Cambria County Library values the gift of your time and welcomes volunteers to help with library operations, including shelving books, cleaning, and other tasks. Volunteer assignments may vary based on the department.

All volunteers will be required to complete PATCH and Child Abuse History Clearance background checks. These clearances are free to volunteers and can be completed on the PATCH Website and the PA Child Welfare Website. Volunteers do not need to obtain federal background checks that require fingerprinting.

If you are interested in volunteering at the library, fill out the form on this page! You can also contact our Head of Reference at (814) 536-5131, ext 212

Donations and Memorials

If you would like to make a donation or honor a loved one with a gift to the library, visit our Network for Good Page. Donations can be made to celebrate a loved one’s life, special occasion, or just to show your appreciation!

Adopt a Book

Book Adoptions are a unique and lasting gift to honor the life of a loved one, commemorate an important day or recognize a special person. You can Adopt a Book (or audiobook, DVD movie or music CD) for our collection by completing the Adopt a Book form here.

Donating Items to the Library

Cambria County Library welcomes donations from the public, with a few limitations. Books, DVDs, and other media are accepted through the Friends of the Cambria County Library. The Friends will accept items that are in a clean undamaged state. Items cannot be torn or have mildew, stains, or other forms of damage. Dictionaries, textbooks, or encyclopedias will not be accepted. Items must be brought into the library for donation, and cannot be dropped off outside of library hours.

For more information about donating materials to the library, please contact the Inclined to Read Bookstore at (814) 536-5131 extension 220 or visit the Friends of the Cambria County Library page.

The Children’s Department also takes donations of new craft materials and new and gently used children’s books. Please contact the Children’s Department to make arrangements.
