Volunteer at the Patton Public Library

The Patton Public Library welcomes volunteers to help with different tasks, including assisting with or providing storytime and Summerquest programs. Volunteers are also needed to help with library operations, including shelving books, cleaning, and other tasks.

Volunteers should reach out to the Patton Public Library director to discuss how to help the library.

All volunteers aged 18 and older will be required to complete PATCH and Child Abuse History Clearance background checks. These clearances are free to volunteers and can be completed on the PATCH Website and the PA Child Welfare Website. Volunteers do not need to obtain federal background checks that require fingerprinting.

Volunteering at Altoona Curve Baseball Games

The Patton Public Library volunteers at the Altoona Curve Baseball games as an annual fundraiser. Volunteers under the age of 18 may be able to participate as concession stand food runners, but cannot handle alcohol. Anyone interested in participating in the library may reach out to the library for additional information or to sign up for events.

Friends of the Patton Public Library

The Friends of the Library group is a non-profit dedicated to assisting the library through fundraising efforts. The Friends of the Library helps the library with the annual Wine Fest fundraiser and other events throughout the year. The Friends group recruits throughout the year and is actively seeking members, please contact the library for more information.

Donating Items to the Patton Public Library

The Patton Public Library welcomes donations from the public, with a few limitations. The Patton Public Library will accept books, dvds, and other media that are in a clean undamaged state. Items cannot be torn or have mildew, stains, or other forms of damage. The Patton Public Library cannot accept textbooks, medical texts, dictionaries or encyclopedias. Items must be donated directly to the library, and cannot be dropped off outside of library hours.

Donating Items to the Patton Public Library Basket Party

Items are accepted for the basket party up to the date of the basket party. Alcohol cannot be included in baskets. Please contact the Patton Public Library for additional information on donating baskets to the library.
