Getting Involved

Volunteer at the Gallitzin Public Library

The Gallitzin Public Library welcomes volunteers to help with different tasks, including assisting with Summerquest programs. Volunteers may also be needed to help with library operations, including shelving books, cleaning, and other tasks.

Volunteers should reach out to the Gallitzin Public Library director to discuss how to help the library.

All volunteers aged 18 and older will be required to complete PATCH and Child Abuse History Clearance background checks. These clearances are free to volunteers and can be completed on the PATCH Website and the PA Child Welfare Website. Volunteers do not need to obtain federal background checks that require fingerprinting.

Donate Items to the Gallitzin Public Library

Gallitzin Public Library welcomes donations from the public, with a few limitations. The library will accept books, dvds, and other media that are in a clean undamaged state. Items cannot be torn or have mildew, stains, or other forms of damage. The Gallitzin Public Library cannot accept dictionaries, textbooks, or encyclopedias. Items must be donated directly to the library, and cannot be dropped off outside of library hours.

Soup and Baked Good Sale

Items for the Soup Sale can be donated the day of the sale. Baked items need to be shelf-stable and individually wrapped when possible. Visit the Events page for sale announcements.
